Industrial safety standards
List of the most important induatrial safety standards
There are about 100 international standards related to different aspects of industrial safety.
European standards organisations have added more than 600 product specific machine safety standards. Many of these have been taken over by ISO. In the USA a whole series of industrial safety standards - the ANSI B11-series - have been published.
But which of these are the most important?
The list below highlights those that are most frequently used. However, a standards research should always be made in each industrial safety project. The list is sorted by importance.
Most of the standards listed here are international standards applying in the EU, the USA, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, South Africa and other industrialized countries. For the USA many key rules from the ISO standards have been adopted into ANSI B11.0 and B11.19.
