We Are Axelent - Daniel Häggström - our new Head of Product

Daniel Häggström

In June Daniel Häggström started his new role as Head of Product at Axelent. We took the chance to ask him about his new role, how his journey to get here has looked like but also to get to know who Daniel is outside of work. We would like to welcome Daniel to Team Axelent!

Welcome to your new role at Axelent, how does it feel?

I feel very welcomed here, and I feel very inspired to finally get started.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what your interests are?

My name is Daniel Häggström and I live in Jönköping. I am 41 years old and live together with my partner and two boys who are 9 and 12 years old. In my spare time I spend a lot of time with my family. I enjoy working out and I’m also a coach in my son’s football-team, so football is also a big interest. I like travelling and the whole family enjoys skiing a lot, so that is something we like doing together. I also have a big interest in cooking and especially barbequing.

What did you do before you started here?

Before I started here, I worked at a family-owned investment company with operations in several different areas, mainly manufacturing industry, printing and newspapers. There I worked as a business developer where I was responsible for the commercial process.

Before that I have a long background of product development and product management. That is what I have been working with the most in the past, so I feel privileged to get back into that field of work again.

What will you be doing here at Axelent?

I will have the role as Head of Product, where I will be responsible for the product department. My role will focus a lot on developing our department as well as securing that we have a competitive offering. Including networking internally and cooperation with R&D, Marketing and Sales as well as with our subsidiaries globally.

Which parts do you look forward to the most in your new role?

To communicate with different colleagues, both here in Sweden but also globally, is what I really look forward to with this role and to collaborate on how to continue our success story.

I look forward to continuing the success of making our offering competitive and strong. I also look forward of being part of building what we call “One Axelent”, which is all about good relations and cooperation with all the Axelent-companies globally.

How would you describe your strengths?

I would say that my strengths are that I’m responsive and a team-player. I also believe that I can translate customers’ needs into the products and create an offering that matches their needs.

Safety is something that is very central in our work as well as in our products. What does safety mean to you?

When looking at safety in a workplace perspective I feel it is about being able to go to work and come back home secure. To have a safe workplace should in other words be given, but also that existing safety regulations should be respected and followed to protect yourself and others.

What made you search for this role at Axelent?

Foremost I was very interested in the job ad, I felt that it really mirrored me. Then when I read more about the fantastic development Axelent has had the recent years, I was even more excited to be part of the growth journey onwards. It is very exciting to be part of a company like Axelent!
